*COURTESY LISTING*
This dog is being listed as a service for it's owner who needs to place their dog but will keep it until a suitable home is found. Please note that North Star Border Collie Rescue has not met or evaluated this dog and makes no representations as to it's health, temperament, or suitability for adoption.

Ricky is a very handsome tri-colored Border Collie/Australian Shepard mix. He was born in April of 2013 and currently weighs about 45 pounds. His mother was Border Collie and father Australian Shepard.

Ricky is the happiest dog on earth! He is full of fun and energy. While he is still young and learning, he is smart and so eager to please. He knows some basic commands such as sit and lay. Ricky spends a large amount of time outside. He loves to go down the road on a jog/run with me and trail ride with the horses.

Ricky is an only dog but has played with other dogs in the past and I think would really benefit having a dog friend. He lives with a cat and tolerates him but likes to chase the cat for play. He is crate trained and will run into his crate and wait when it is time for us to leave. He loves to play in the pool, river and lake. Ricky plays fetch and rides well in the car. He absolutely adores his people - but can be protective of high value treats and therefore will NOT be adopted to a home with children.

Currently, Ricky lives on 40 acres. He will need lots of room to run off all of his energy. He thoroughly enjoys running as fast as he can through the yard and open hay field. This is when you see him “smile”.

Ricky is very housebroke and sleeps next to the bed every night. He never asks to be let out as he loves to be with his family. He is current on all of his vaccinations, on heartworm preventative and neutered. For the right home there will be no adoption fee, but be prepared to provide vet and personal references. Also, a home visit will be required. A patient, loving home is a must for this awesome boy.

If you are interested in adopting Ricky, please email: Toni@northstarbcrescue.org for more information.

Ricky is located near Cadillac, MI.
