Jimmy is a beautiful purebred Border Collie born 6/20/11, he is 19" at the withers and weighs 44 pounds. Like a lot of Border Collies....he was given up by his owners because he is too active for their lifestyle. Jimmy needs a home where he can get plenty of daily exercise for his body AND his mind. He is enjoying playing with his Border Collie and Aussie foster sisters, but is not crazy about the resident adult male Aussie. He likes to try to herd the resident cat, so if he goes to a home with a cat it should be dog savvy. His owner has taken him to agility classes and he has been to several trials. His latest accomplishment on January 7, 2014 was qualifying in a CPE level 3 jumpers course. His leash walking needs work, but he has been improving since coming to his foster home. He has gone camping, loves the water and also enjoys hiking.
Jimmy settles down nicely in the house and is crate trained. We are requiring a home with prior Border Collie experience and without children as he has a strong herding drive. It would be great if there were another female dog he could play with, but better if there are no other male dogs. We are also requiring that his new home have a yard with a physical fence.
Jimmy has been neutered, microchipped, and will be brought up to date on all his vaccinations before being adopted. His adoption fee is $250.00.
