Shiloh is a cute little (currently only 27 pounds) purebred female Border Collie born September 16, 2011. She came to North Star after being pulled from a shelter in Fort Smith, Arkansas where she was terrified and beginning to shut down. A kind volunteer took Shiloh in and fostered her until arrangements could be made to get her on a transport coming to Michigan April 14, 2013.

She is extremely timid with strangers and in new situations, but is making slow but steady improvements in her foster home. She has become very bonded to her foster mom and especially loves when she can lie next to you as close as possible for belly rubs and pets. She ignores the resident cat and will occasionally join in a game of chase or herding with the other dogs. However, her BEST four-legged friend is another North Star dog named Baby Girl (a feral and heartworm positive dog that came to us from a small town near Houston, Texas). Here they are enjoying a warm sunny day together:

Shiloh is going to require a quiet home and a yard with a physical fence. She will also need an owner who is going to be able to spend a lot of time with her and understands that Shiloh may never totally get over her timid ways and accept that she will need her own space where she can retreat when she feels frightened or overwhelmed. For these reasons, Shiloh will ONLY be adopted to a home with Border Collie experience and no children.

Shiloh has received all her necessary vaccinations, has been heartworm tested, microchipped, spayed and is currently on heartworm, flea and tick preventative. Her adoption fee is $250.00.
