Stitch is a purebred (no papers) smooth coat Border Collie born July 3, 2012. He came from working parents and is energetic, smart and ALL Border Collie! He has been in his foster home now for approximately three weeks and is learning what it is like to live inside. He is getting along great with the resident dogs, but in his prior home was too rough on their cat. At this time he only lives with dogs, so he will either need a home without cats or cats that are herding dog savvy. Because of his strong herding drive and energy level, Stitch will require a home with previous Border Collie experience, a yard with a physical fence and NO children.

Stitch will be neutered in the next few days and microchipped. He is up to date on all his vaccinations, has been heartworm tested and is on heartworm and flea/tick preventative. His adoption fee is $250.00.

Message from Stitch....
So, I finally decided that I wanted to join my family in the house. I longer confine myself to the breezeway because I was scared of the stairs. I still do not know about the full stairway to the basement but I have overcome my fear of the kitchen tile and 2 little steps to the living room. I really like by sister boarder collie - she taught me how to give humans kisses and lay on my back to prepare for a belly rub. I also really like hiking with my humans. I am doing great on a leash and we went swimming at the beach over the weekend. I am still not sure how to play with toys but chasing Maddie seems to be fun enough for me! I learned that I am defiantly not the alpha male in my new home - turbo has made it very clear that humping him will not get me very far...lol. I am fully potty trained and turbo appreciates my fast learning skills. I started playing with my kong tonight for the first time... Mom was so excited to see me acting like a puppy. Pictures will come tomorrow.

Message from mom....
Stitch is coming along so quickly. I truly thought he would be more timid and take more time becoming comfortable with us. He is doing so great and watching him mental grow is so rewarding. Toni and I are trying to figure out vetting arrangements for Stitch. I am confident that we can get him neutered on his next scheduled shot appointment without him becoming terrified. We are really trying to get him to play with a tennis ball or frisbee but this seems to be taking a little more time.

Time for a bath... Back yard is so muddy!!!

Night before my vet visit... Mom said it is time to get my surgey so I can't make little baby Stitches.

On my way to the vet, I am trying really hard to think of a way out of this Truck!

Back home after my Surgery.... I am feeling a little under the weather but loving my heated floor and cozy crate. I know I will have to be low key for a few days which Turbo will appreciate but soon I will be back in action!!! Birds, squirrels, and creatures of the back yard - Better Watch-out!

Good Morning World!!! I am all healed and ready to run and play. I never realized how much I love to play until I had to be confined to my recovery room. Today, mom is letting me run free! Its been one whole week since I had my surgery. I am feeling good and Turbo is happy that I am not humping him anymore. I learned to like my chewy bone and cuddle with mom while I was in recovery. Down time let me see a different side of the world with my humans. Did you know that if I am calm, I get to be rubbed and kissed! So great!!! I even let mom cut my nails and brush my teeth. I am a very handsome man... dont tell the ladies

We are hoping to plan a hiking trip this weekend if the weather will finally break.... we are having some serious cabin fever over here. It is April and we just got snow last night.... a little crazy!!! Here are my new modeling photos.

Foster Mom Update:
Stitch has really started to fall in love with life! He is starting to become a whole different puppy! Walking through the park on a leash is a fun filled experience now! He "bows" to oncoming dogs and drops at peoples feet for a good petting! We are still not really playing with toys, but that is ok… he just wants to walk, hike, explore and eat treats! Stitch is even getting better at cuddling in the bed…. I wanted to teach him that the bedroom is a calm place and he is really catching on. He used to be a wiggle worm in the pillows but now he will lay on his back and wait for a belly rub!

With all the mud, I have had the wonderful pleasure of giving Stitch a bath almost daily. HE LOVES THE BATH – No kidding!!! I think it is his time alone with me so he appreciates the rubbing and washing.

What a peach he is becoming!!!
