Malone is a blue merle, male Australian Shepherd puppy born December 31, 2012. We cannot say for sure he is purebred, so at this time we are calling him a mix. He is still pretty young to tell, so we will let YOU be the judge of that.
Regardless, he is a cute, confident and active boy! He has been VERY good with his housebreaking, especially for such a young pup. He is coming along nicely with his crate training and keeps it clean and dry. We are working on keeping all four feet on the floor when greeting people, but sometimes he is just SO happy he forgets. A lot of his enthusiasm is just puppy behavior, but it is never too early to start teaching manners.
When Malone first came to North Star, he lived with a house full of dogs and a cat. He got along with everyone quite well and LOVED always being able to have someone that wanted to play. I think Malone would do best in a home with a playful FEMALE dog, however that is not a requirement if you are prepared to give this boy a job to do. He is very smart and learns things quickly.
At this time, Malone is too young to be neutered and so he will have to be adopted with a spay/neuter contract. This means his adopter will need to pay a $100 deposit in addition to the adoption fee, which will be held until proof is provided he has been neutered (at the owner’s expense). At that time the $100 deposit will be refunded.
