She does fine with my dog savvy cats, but is extremely bossy with other dogs. Therefore, I think it would be best she be an “only child”. She loves to herd and irritates the heck out of the other dogs here with her nipping and poking to get them to “move”. It would be kind of cute if it didn’t drive everyone else crazy. She will also do the same to humans if you don’t watch her…..especially people she doesn’t know well.
She is a little girl, very fine-boned and agile. I think with the right training she could excel in just about any sport. She has a lot of drive and is very focused. She will need someone with a lot of experience to direct that energy into the proper channels. I also want Amanda to go to a home with a physical fence. Not because she tries to run away…..but because of her herding drive. I have not seen any signs of wanting to chase cars or bicycles, but running people (especially children) I think will be too much for her to resist.
Amanda is such a fun dog, she has the cutest way of chasing balls and just before she reaches them – jumping in the air like a deer and pouncing on the them. She likes water and will play in the kiddy pool. I haven’t had the opportunity to take her to play in a natural body of water….but I think she would like it.
Amanda is current on all her vaccinations, has been heartworm tested, is on monthly heartworm and flea/tick preventative, has been spayed and is microchipped. Her adoption fee is $250.00.
