Bridgette is a purebred Border Collie, born 9/7/2005. She is a very sweet and submissive girl whose life started out happy with her first owner but unfortunately he passed away when Bridgette was around two years old. At that time one of the owner’s relatives took her, but their current dogs picked on her and she ended up in a pen in their garage where she lived by herself for over four years.
The owners ended up dumping her at a shelter where thankfully a kind lady adopted her. However after having Bridgette for a few months, her new owner realized her fear issues were too severe for her to be comfortable with their active family. She wanted Bridgette to go to a Border Collie rescue so she could get help from people experienced in working with this breed of dog, and so North Star took her in.
Bridgette has been in foster care for over eight months and is finally ready for her forever home. She most likely will always have fear issues…..and her adoptive family will need to be patient and willing to accept her shyness of strangers and know that sometimes Bridgette may need to go off to a quiet place by herself if she is overwhelmed. However around people she knows, she is extremely loving and can never get too many belly rubs. She will melt your heart when you look into those big brown eyes.
Bridgette is crate trained, up to date on all her vetting, spayed, microchipped, and on heartworm and flea/tick preventative. She totally ignores my cats, will occasionally play with my young Aussie but would be fine as an only dog too. She will require an adult only home with a securely fenced yard. Bridgette's adoption fee is $150.00.
