This bouncing, bounding bundle of energy is Layne! She was born in January of 2011. Layne was adopted from a private party by a family who soon discovered that this classic Aussi girl just had too much energy for their family and their other small dog. They put her on CraigsList and after meeting her we brought her into NorthStar to make sure she gets the perfect home this time with a family that understands all those things about Aussies that we love.

First of all, Layne loves everybody and everything from our twin neighbor boys to our bunny rabbit but she doesn't understand her own forces so will need to go to a home with Aussi experience and no young children as she is quite the jumper. We're working on four on the floor but this little wiggle butt has springs on her feet! I think her wiggles have wiggles

Layne loves to play with the other dogs here on the farm and especially loves her new foster sister, Kelsie (anyone looking for double trouble??) She plays very hard so anyone adopting her with another dog will need to make sure they know how rough the play can get. Layne is doing great on her housebreaking and learning to sit and make eye contact for her dinner. She sleeps quietly in her crate at night and now that she gets plenty of exercise she settles quietly in the house content to be with everyone. She loves to cuddle and will lie on her back for belly rubs as long as you are willing to pet her. She has GREAT recall and she might make a nice little agility, rally/obedience or herding competitor. She'll get a chance to meet the woolies while she is here and we'll be able to see if she has any herding instinct so stay tuned for updates.

Layne is up to date on her vaccinations, heartworm/flea/tick preventative, dewormed, spayed and microchipped. Contact her foster mom at PaulaH@northstarbcrescue.org for details.

Layne has settled in very well and is just one of the pack now. She loves to go for runs on the farm through the hay fields and always stays close and checks in every few seconds to make sure where we are. She is a typical velcro Aussi but not needy so has just the right blend of enjoying affection but not demanding it. She's getting better about not jumping but still needs reminders to keep all four on the floor when she is excited. This girlie will work for food so is quick to learn any new trick or task. She is fully crate trained and housebroken and doing very well walking on a leash. She likes to play with toys and will chase a ball and return it now. Layne will be a great companion and is ready for her furever home. Contact her foster mom at www.PaulaH@northstarbcrescue.org for more details.

I got this wonderful update on Layne from her new mom, Meaghan. Sounds like she is doing wonderfully!

Hi Paula!

I just wanted to give you an update on how wonderful Layne is doing! She loves doggy daycare and has made many best friends already! She fits right in with a clique of dogs we named "the bad girls club", all of whom are very sweet but very loud, rough players. She has also fallen in love with her two feline brothers. She and Greg just completed their obedience one class this week and she was the best puppy in the class! After the holidays, I will be taking a fly-ball class with her which I am sure she will love!
Layne rides great in the car on our trips to Michigan and won the hearts of everyone on Thanksgiving. I can't wait to see how she reacts to the first snowfall!

Hi Paula,

I'm not sure if this is still an email that you use, but I just wanted to send you a quick message to tell you how much we adore Layne. At the beginning of this month, we celebrated our 3 year adoption day with her. She has taught me so much and I love her more than anything else in the world. I though you should know that even though it has been a few years, Greg and I speak of how lucky we were to have worked with you and North Star to find our little girl. You do a wonderful thing!!!!

Thought I'd send along some updated pictures too! I hope all is well with you and your pack!

Meaghan
