Millie is a one year old Border Collie/Labrador Retriever mix. Her mom was a purebred Border Collie and although Millie has taken on more of the look of the Labradore - she definitely has the Border Collie brain. ;) She is playful, sweet and very much a velcro dog. She wants to be near her person constantly and is very attentive which makes her a breeze to train.

Millie is crate trained and housebroken. She likes playing with other dogs, gets along fine with my cats, and enjoys balls and Frisbees although we will have to work on having her bring them back.

Millie is current on all her shots, has been spayed and microchipped, is on heartworm and flea/tick preventative and ready for her new home. If you would like to know more please contact her foster mom at Toni@northstarbcrescue.org.

Millie is being fostered near Kalamazoo, Michigan.

Millie has fit into the "three ring circus" we call home, and has been a very easy girl to foster. She loves attention and is very affectionate. She can be unsure with strangers (more so men) and I have been working on that with her. If she is ignored and can approach on her own terms she will warm up very quickly. She just needs more positive experiences and has improved a lot in the short time I have had her.

I have introduced her to the kiddie pool and she really enjoys it. She likes to "wash" her toys in the water and will stick her entire face underwater and blow bubbles, then look at you with a big grin - oh so proud of herself. She is happy, mischievous and always ready for a good time. She loves playing with balls and is now fetching them and bringing them back. She loves running and playing with the other dogs and is a very good sport.

Millie is very trustworthy in the house, although I always crate her when I go away as she does not especially like to be left behind. It is nothing serious, just a little barking and whining that usually does not last very long. It seems to be more of a protest than actual nervousness, as she just cannot understand why she can't go EVERYWHERE with me. ;) Because she loves riding in the car so much, she is part of the regular gang that I take with me most everywhere I go.

Millie is a very athletic and energetic girl and very food motivated. She is easy to train, has great focus, and would benefit from training classes either in obedience, Rally-O or agility. She has a busy mind and needs mental stimulation, she is NOT a couch potato.

Here is an update from Izzy's new owner with some pictures of her at the lake. That is an awfully big smile on her face.....I would say she is loving her new life! Thank you Nicole and Chase for giving Izzy the loving, forever home she deserves. :D

Hey Toni,

It was really nice to meet you on Saturday. Izzy is doing awesome, she has formed a real attachment to me (I can't walk out of her line of site or she comes running to find me) I just wanted to send you a couple of pictures so you can see the fun she had swimming and playing in the lake down the road. We also had her in my parents pool last Sunday and she found that she really enjoys swimming with our other dogs. We are so happy with her, she is an amazing dog and has adjusted pretty quickly to her new life.

Another great update from Izzy's new family......I better not let my other dogs see these pictures or they will all run away to live with Nicole and Chase!

Hey Toni,

I have uploaded some more pictures of Izzy playing in the water, one with her swimming with Chase, and of her with her friend Cassy (my sisters dog), and Lexie (my parents Jack Russell). I also have attached our first (of many) family pictures.

Chase called and told me that she did great at the vet today, and wasn't at all afraid of the shots or anything. He was very proud of how well she did (she got a special treat for doing so well). We have plans tonight to go play with my families other dogs, which will probably involve more swimming. I am starting to think she is going to grow fins and gills pretty soon. She absolutely loves the water, I can't keep her out of it when she sees it. She will swim and play so hard in the water that she is usually still exhausted the next day, it is the only thing that seems to truly make her tired.

Hope all is going well with you and the other dogs. I promise to give her a big hug from you when I get home.

-Nicole

I received this very nice Christmas card from Izzy's family. Seeing her so happy in her new life is the perfect Christmas gift. :occasion-santa:
