Kelsie arrived at her new foster home in Muncie, IN yesterday and is getting along great. She loves the resident dogs here and tries to get everyone to play chase as much as she can! She made a wonderful first impression her first night here...slept through the night in her crate without a peep, no accidents in the house, and didn't get on the furniture. She adores attention but isn't pushy about it. So far she's shown interest in the cats, chickens and bunnies but seems to be more playful than aggressive. We'll take a few more days to really get to known this little sweetie but so far she seems to be a gem and is going to make someone a super companion! Check back for more updates or you can contact her foster mom at PaulaH@northstarbcrescue.org.

Kelsie has been here for a week now and all we can say is "Wow, what a nice girl!" She has fit in nicely with the resident pack of BCs and especially enjoys playing with Allie, our BC/Aussi girl. She goes willingly into her crate and fusses a little bit but settles down nicely and sleeps through the night. She has not had an accident in the house since she arrived and seems to learn very fast. You can show her something one time and she figures it out right away. She went to a beginner agility class last week and really impressed the instructors as she has great focus especially for being so young. She is very quick and agile and loves to race around the yard chasing balls and toys. She is interested in the cats and will chase if given the opportunity. She has a fair amount of prey drive so probably shouldn't go to a home with small pets, chickens etc. She also watches the horses closely but calls off quickly when asked. Kelsie would love a home where she will be able to try lots of new things...agility, obedience, frisbee, and running are all activities where she might do well. She loves to be with the humans and is comfortable in the house chewing on an elk antler or just taking a nap. This petite little love bug is great with people and is already spayed, up to date on her vaccinations and looking for an owner who wants a fun, athletic companion. Feel free to contact her foster mom at PaulaH@northstarbcrescue.org.

Kelsie has been here a few weeks now and has become a comfortable member of the pack. She might be the easiest foster we'd ever had. :D She loves the other dogs and enjoys playing zoomies and tug with toys. She is very respectful of the other dogs and knows her place. She is such a happy girl and is extremely affectionate but not needy and loves to sit beside you to be petted quietly. She settles very nicely in the house and enjoys lying on a dog bed chewing on her elk antlers. Kelsie has been going to Foundation agility classes and is fearless. She is food, tug and toy motivated and would probably enjoy continuing her agility training. She is so responsive she would also probably do well in Rally-O or obedience. Kelsie still has a lot of puppy exuberance and is easily excited by the chickens, bunny or cats but can be redirected easily. She is showing some herding tendancies as well and has to be reminded not to reach for shoes or pant legs as you walk around so would probably do best in a home with older children 10 and up. Kelsie is housebroken (not one accident since she came into rescue!), crate trained, spayed, and up to date on all her vaccinations. Kelsie would really love an active family to love her and a doggie brother or sister would be ok too! Kelsie continues to do very well here at the farm. We've learned a little bit more about her in the past few weeks, like she has a strong prey drive and taste for baby rabbits. For that reason she probably isn't a good candidate for a homes with chickens or cats as she does love a good game of chase. On the positive side she is very quick to learn new things such as waiting for the release before she eats, comes out of her crate, or goes through a door or gate. She passed her Foundation Agility class test and has the green light to move to the next level. She is very loving and has a nice off switch in the house settling nicely with an elk antler or toy to entertain herself. Kelsie is just waiting for the perfect forever home and is going to be a wonderful, active companion for some lucky adopter. Well, we can't believe this little gem hasn't been adopted yet, but she's still looking for the perfect home! Kelsie has been a great foster dog. She keeps her crate clean and dry and has never had an accident in the house. She sleeps quietly through the night loves to go for rides in the car. She is friendly to everyione she meets and is getting much better about keeping all four paws on the floor except when we first get home from work and she just can't contain her enthusiasm  She has learned to sit and wait until released before she eats her kibble and takes her treats very gently. She's a bit selective about her recall so will need a secure physical fence to keep her safe. She gets along great with all the other dogs and is such a happy playful girl. She is spayed, up to date on all her vaccinations and preventatives, microchipped and ready to find her own forever family.
