Summer is a beautiful purebred Border Collie that just turned seven in April. But don't let her age deter you, this playful girl is ALWAYS up for a good time!
Summer loves the water and will fetch a ball or Frisbee until your arm falls off. She is crate trained and is totally trustworthy in the house. She knows hand signals including sit, down, heel, stay, off, enough, leave it, right here, and free. She is good with other dogs and ignores my cats. She has been spayed and is up to date on all her vaccinations. She will be going to the vet soon to be microchipped and to have her teeth cleaned and then will be ready for her forever home.
Summer came to North Star because little children make her nervous. Her owners had her since she was a pup but when their baby came along it was too much for Summer to handle. The owners did not want to have to lock Summer away from all the family activities and so they decided it would be best for her to live in a home with adults only. It was a hard decision, but they felt it was best for her.
Summer will NOT be adopted out to a home with children. She gets along with other dogs, but would also be fine as an only dog. She settles down nicely in the house, but you might have to keep the balls out of sight or she will continuously bring them to you wanting to play. A home with a PHYSICAL fence will be required.
If you are interested in adopting Summer you will need to complete an application and be approved first. You can find the link to our online application at
http://www.northstarbcrescue.org. Her adoption fee is $150.00.
If you have any questions you can contact her foster mom at

Summer is being fostered near Kalamazoo, Michigan.
