Louie is a 9 week old Australian Shepherd Mix Puppy. This little guy is full of himself but is starting to learn manners from the big dogs. He's is a VERY active puppy that is always ready for some rough and tumble dog games. Louie is energetic and would not do well in a household with small children. As he grows he would easily knock them over with his puppy exuberence.

Louie's pictures were taken on 4/7/11. He is about 14lbs now. Louie is a ball of energy. He loves to play puppy chase and wrestle with his sister Lizzy. Louie is very affectionate and likes to receive attention from his foster Mom. Louie tries to be the leader of the pack, but his sister Lizzy likes to challenge him for that role. Louie loves to run around the yard, he and his sibling are super fast. He is a very happy puppy that gives the best puppy kisses. When you hold him his little tail goes a million miles an hour. Louie has gorgeous markings. His nose is so cute. It looks like someone took a black sharpie marker and colored on it.

Hello, Toni, Chasity, and Tammy.
We just wanted to give you an update on Louie. First of all, he has a new name, Pippin. I let Devin name him and Devin is a big Lord of the Rings fan. At least he didn't go with Gandolf. I actually like Pippin/Pip as a name, but keep accidentally calling him Pippi. He was great in the car on the way home yesterday. Some crying at first (maybe 30 seconds), then laid down for a sleep in the crate. We stopped and got the food he's used to on the way home. When we got home we went to the yard to pee (yay!), ate supper, played, went out in the yard (pee and poop, yay again!), then played some more. He crated at 12:00 midnight (long day) and slept without a peep until 6:30! I actually woke up and took him out before he even started whining or anything. We took a walk on the leash this morning and he did really well for a first timer. He's learning 'sit' and 'come' already. I'm sure within no time he'll know his commands. He's so attentive and smart. Will keep you posted and send pics next time. Thanks!

Hello, ladies.
Pippin is doing wonderfully. He is almost 40 pounds, but has slowed down growing (which is great - I love a medium sized dog). He has learned most of the basic commands but is still working on not jumping up when he's happy/excited. He has made lots of dog friends and plays really well with everyone. He has been sterilized (Aug. 11) and recovered from his big day at the vet just fine. He was back to his normal amount of energy (and mischief) within 2 days! I will send a copy of the vet summary / invoice to the NSBCR Otsego address in the mail tomorrow. I've attached a couple new photos of Pip (at the doggie park last week) for you. Thanks!
